Why Your Website is Important To Your Business

It doesn’t really matter what industry you are involved in, nowadays your website is very important to your business.  You should be using your website on your business cards, facebook page, youtube channel, etc. It’s very important that you always direct your clients to your website as much as possible and that when using social media you are always directing your audience there as well (make sure to have your website links on everything).  The great thing about a website is unlike social media, it is something that you actually do have control over.  I’ve never had my website shutdown, but I have had a myspace page permanently shut down years ago, and had a Facebook Page suspended for over a week a few years ago.

Impressions are everything in marketing.  Your website is generally your first impression of your business.  Not only does it need to look professional, but it needs to be easy to understand and follow.  Don’t over complicate it with too much information, make it pretty, simple, and have it flow nicely.  Look at some of your competitor’s websites and see if your website could compete based solely on presentation.

It’s also important that you learn or have some SEO work done on your website after it’s created.  We have personally found that one of the fastest ways to get SEO on a website is by having a blog like the one you are reading right now and that is why we usually recommend the WordPress format as the best format for websites.  I’m not going into detail on SEO in this blog, but a few things that make blogging attractive are your content, keywords, and links to name a few.

A Few Tips To Improve Your Website

  • Include trust building content & always keep your customers in mind while creating.
  • Regularly update your website and keep it current.
  • Use a straightforward layout.
  • Make it easy for customers to contact you.
  • Create a call to action and that your contact details are easy to find
  • Create an online form to build an email list
  • Give away a FREE Ebook to collect email information
  • Consider a blog as a way to get better penetration in SEO and create more value
  • Make sure to incorporate your social media pages with plug-ins
